Dr. Jia-Ning Xiang, founder of XW Labs, was selected as entrepreneurial talent in the 14th national “Thousand Talents Plan”
December 4, 2017, the National Thousands Plan Website (www.1000plan.org) released the list of selected entrepreneurial talents in the 14th national "Thousands Talent Plan". Dr. Jia-Ning Xiang, the founder of XW labs was selected in the list, with the support of Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone in Hubei Province.
Dr. Jia-Ning Xiang, with more than 20 years of experience in drug discovery and team management, had worked in the world’s leading pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and XenoPort, a biotech company located in the Silicon Valley where he directly participated and led the team in the successful development of 10 candidate compounds for clinical trials in different stages. Dr. Xiang is the main inventor of 47 US patents, published 26 academic papers and edited two monographs.
In April 2014, Dr. Jia-Ning Xiang founded XW Laboratories in Wuhan Optics Valley BioLake, and served as CEO. In 2014, he was selected as 3551 talents from Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone and the second prize of “Hua Chuang Cup” by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. In 2016, he was awarded the “One Hundred Talent Plan” of Hubei Province and the “Chime Bell Award” of Hubei Provincial Government. Under his leadership, XW Labs made continuous advancement in Hubei Province's Independent Entrepreneurship Strategic Team in 2015 and 2016.
